A 20-year-old man from St Ives is now under strict court restrictions. Armaan Ahmed has been handed a Sexual Risk Order (SRO) as police label him a danger to teenage girls. The court issued the order on Friday, February 21, to prevent further harm.
Sexual Risk Order restrictions
The Sexual Risk Order stops Ahmed from contacting any girl under 18. He must avoid direct or indirect contact unless it is unavoidable in daily life. Ahmed is also banned from spending extended periods at residences where girls live. In public spaces, he cannot follow or loiter near any girl under the age of 18. The order also restricts his access to educational or childcare establishments, keeping him at least 20 meters away.
Ahmed faces extra conditions regarding travel and accommodation. He cannot stay overnight in hotels or similar lodgings unless he notifies a police officer at least five days in advance. This rule also applies to bed and breakfasts and Airbnbs. The court requires him to share details about any overnight stays outside his home within three days.
The police have demanded more than behavior restrictions. Ahmed must submit any device with internet access for inspection. This requirement includes providing all PINs and passwords. He must also notify the police if he applies for work, volunteering roles, or if he is at any location when requested.
History of targeting young girls
PC Adriana Leaver Hernandez of the Child Exploitation Hub warned that Ahmed has a history of targeting vulnerable girls. She stated, “He has shown he is a high-risk sexual predator.” Authorities emphasise that the order is crucial to stop sexual exploitation in the community.
Breach of any conditions could lead to a criminal charge and up to five years in prison. This case marks a strong stance by local police against sexual harm and child exploitation. For more details on sexual risk orders and child protection, please visit your local police or government website.
