A police officer was taken to hospital after being stabbed during a routine patrol in Cambridge. The incident happened in the early hours of the morning on Eagle Street, part of the new Ironworks housing development off Mill Road.
According to Cambridgeshire Police, two men exited the car after being pulled over just before 03:00 GMT. One of them then attacked an officer with a knife. Emergency services rushed the injured officer to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police have confirmed that one suspect has been arrested and taken into custody. A cordon remains in place at the scene, and Eagle Street is currently closed as investigations continue.
