Cambridge’s culinary scene is heating up as five of its most popular takeaway spots have earned nominations in the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2025. The annual awards shine a spotlight on beloved local restaurants, with public voting now open to help decide the regional champions.
In the running for Regional Cuisine Awards – South England & Wales, the Cambridge nominees span a variety of flavours, from Indian and Nepalese street food to wood-fired pizzas and authentic Thai specialities.
- The Tiffin Truck, a Mill Road favourite nominated for Best Indian & Nepalese. Known for its vibrant market-style dishes and crowd-pleasing dosas, the restaurant has become a go-to for shared meals with a twist.
- Hong Kong Fusion, for Best Chinese, celebrated for its handmade dim sum, clay-pot rice, and Cantonese roast dishes. Nestled in the heart of the city, it’s a haven for lovers of East Asian flavours.
- Pizza 1889 for Best Pizza. This small but mighty takeaway delivers traditional stone-baked pies from a custom-built 6ft oven, serving slices packed with rustic flair.
- Cambridge’s Thai scene is doubly represented, with both House Authentic Thai and Luk Thai at The Cricketers nominated for Best Thai. The former boasts a chef with two decades of experience in Thailand’s top kitchens, while Luk Thai brings fresh, flavourful dishes to its charming venue near Parker’s Piece.
Voting is open until 9 May 2025 at deliveroorestaurantawards.com, with participants entered into a prize draw for £150 in Deliveroo credit. The top five regional winners will go on to compete for Independent Restaurant of the Year, to be judged by a panel including food critic Jimi Famurewa and Tilly Ramsay, daughter of Gordon Ramsay.
The winners will be announced on 28 May via Deliveroo’s social channels. For now, Cambridge foodies have the chance to back their favourite local spot and help bring home a well-deserved win.
