Classic car enthusiasts, start your engines—one of the most exciting auctions of the year is just around the corner! On April 9, 2025, the Imperial War Museum in Duxford will host a spectacular H&H Classics auction, featuring some truly remarkable vehicles. Among the highlights? A 1995 Aston Martin DB7 once owned by the legendary Sir Elton John and an ultra-rare 1977 Ferrari 512 BB ‘Wide Body’. If you’re a collector, a fan of motoring history, or just love the thrill of an auction, this is one event you won’t want to miss.
Elton John’s Aston Martin DB7
When you think of Sir Elton John, you might picture his flamboyant stage outfits, iconic sunglasses, and of course, his legendary music career. But did you know the Rocket Man had an eye for classic British motoring too?
His 1995 Aston Martin DB7, finished in stunning British Racing Green, is set to go under the hammer at H&H Classics’ auction in Duxford. Custom-designed to Sir Elton’s personal specifications, this car is a true reflection of the artist’s refined taste. Inside, you’ll find a luxurious light tan hide interior, a top-of-the-range Alpine stereo system with a six-disc CD changer, and even a remote control installed by the star himself.
Adding to its exclusivity, this DB7 comes with original documentation in Sir Elton’s name, including the first V5 registration document and warranty card. With an estimated price of £23,000 to £27,000, this is a rare opportunity to own a piece of both music and motoring history.
Ultra-Rare Ferrari 512 BB ‘Wide Body’
For those with a taste for Italian supercars, the auction will also feature an incredibly rare 1977 Ferrari 512 BB ‘Wide Body’—a true collector’s dream. With just 6,000 miles from new, this one-owner masterpiece is one of the 101 UK-supplied examples and is thought to be the only one of its kind.
With an estimated sale price of £150,000 to £170,000, this Ferrari is expected to attract significant interest. Its striking design, raw power, and exclusivity make it one of the standout lots of the auction.
The auction will take place on Wednesday, April 9, with bidding starting at 1 pm. All lots will be available for in-person viewing at the Imperial War Museum from midday on April 8 and again from 9 am on auction day.
Bidders can participate in person, online, via telephone, or by placing a commission bid.
