A delivery driver was knocked from his bike and robbed in the early hours of Monday in Cherry Hinton, prompting a police appeal for witnesses and CCTV footage.
The incident occurred around 12.10am on 24 March in Fishers Lane, when the victim, riding a Just Eat bike, was approached by two men on a motorbike. One of the suspects kicked him off the bike, stole his mobile phone, and fled the scene on the victim’s motorbike. The pair were last seen heading along Cherry Hinton High Street in the direction of the local shops.
Police later recovered the stolen phone, but the motorbike is still missing.
The two suspects are described as white males, both wearing black clothing, black tracksuit bottoms, and black helmets. The victim, though left uninjured, was understandably shaken by the ordeal.
Detective Constable Ellie Hathiramani, leading the investigation, is urging local residents to come forward with any information.
“I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the two men riding motorbikes in the early hours of this morning in the Cherry Hinton area, especially around High Street,” she said. “Also, if anyone has any doorbell CCTV or general CCTV of the two men, that would be a great help to our investigation.”
Anyone with footage or details is asked to contact Cambridgeshire Police via their website using reference 35/20892/25, or by calling 101 for those without internet access.
Residents are reminded to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity in the area.
