A county lines drug dealer has been sentenced to prison after being stopped just outside Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.
On 9 February 2023, police officers patrolling East Road spotted a black Citroën DS3, a vehicle linked to drug dealing. The car was pulled over as it turned onto Parkside, where officers discovered Abdul Ali, 31, from Euston Street, Huntingdon, along with a female passenger.
A search of the vehicle uncovered mobile phones and £1,500 in cash. The woman was also found with 35 wraps of cocaine and 32 wraps of heroin hidden in her underwear.
Ali admitted the drugs were his, and further investigation linked him to the ‘Dan’ drugs line, which operated between Cambridge and Huntingdon.
Ali pleaded guilty to multiple drug offences, including possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin. On 7 March, Peterborough Crown Court sentenced him to three years and eight months in prison.
Detective Constable Callum Fullwood, who led the investigation, said:
County lines dealers prey on the vulnerabilities of others in order to run their business and make money. We recognise the impact they have on our communities and will continue to put them before the courts to make the county a safer place.
Residents who suspect drug activity in their area are encouraged to report it via the police website.
